Arthur Loves PlasticBev Stanton was born in the Bahamas and raised near Walt Disney World. She recorded Arthur Loves Plastic's first project, Sperm Warfare, in her basement, and it was released in Europe by Britain's hipper-than-thou label TEQ Music. After TEQ folded, Stanton independently released a dozen solo CDs. Her internet presence prompted Keyboard Magazine to feature her in a cover story on indie-music promotion. Stanton has gained recognition as a "remix master" (Washington Post) for her work with DC artists such as Laura Burhenn and Bicycle Thieves. Her solo material, which combines the quirkiness of Bjork and the ennui of Moby, has won over a dozen Washington Area Music Awards in the Electronica category. ALP tracks have appeared on Access Hollywood, America's Most Wanted, Playboy's Sexy Girls Next Door, The Oprah Winfrey Show, American Idol and various programs on VH1, MTV, and the Discovery Channel.
